I thought it would be a good idea to express my gratitude in a short and simple list. This is something that people don’t do enough and can be really helpful when you’re feeling down!!
*in no particular order
1. My body
I am grateful to be fit and healthy and have a body that works. I have always been active but it just recently that I have realized how amazing the human body is and just how great mine works. I have struggled with injuries and this is the strongest and healthiest I have felt in my life and that’s pretty dang cool.
2. My parents
In my experience I have found that a lot of kids who graduate college recently are not ready (financially mostly) to move out and live on their own. Not only do my parents let me live with them as I head to nursing school- they are just really awesome people. They’re kind and caring and great role models.
3. My sister
Being a twin is something very special. I have learned to appreciate how different we really are even though being twins lumps us together. Cait and I are on total opposite ends of the spectrum for a lot of things but one thing always stands- we will forever have each others backs and love us for us.
4. My fiancé
I am forever grateful to spend the rest of my life with my absolute best friend. Joe challenges me and pushes me to be better. He makes me laugh, he loves me for me, and he never asks me to compromise my values. And he’s handsome, so there’s that (;
5. Outsiders Crossfit
Crossfit is hard. There are really no ifs, ands, or buts, about it. Our gym owners, Jess and Stan have crafted a gym environment that focuses on community which makes working out amazing. Our friends at the gym are friends that we have made for life. I am grateful to have found Outsiders and for the friends I’ve met there.
6. Having a roof over my head
We forget the little things! I am absolutely blessed to be able to have a safe place to sleep at night. It is taken for granted on a daily basis. I have a happy, healthy and supportive home life.
For me friends are based upon a quality over quantity rule. I learned that in high school and I will forever keep that in mind. I have a handful of girl friends who I wouldn’t trade the world for. Friendship is hard work, but they’re worth every ounce.
Sun is my fuel. If the sun isn’t shinning I am not super happy. Although we’ve had some rough weather here lately, the sun is shining and I’m soaking up the rays (with 30 spf on my face obvi!)
9. My 16 year old cat
I am a huge cat person (don’t judge!) and I am lucky enough to have a cat that I’ve grown up with. He’s totally a cool cat!
10. My future in-law family
Joe has a big family and they have taken me in with open arms since day one! I definitely don’t have the terrible in laws problem. His two sisters I feel especially grateful for. We are so close and have made an unbreakable bond over the last 3 years.
Stay positive, be grateful xxx
